# Settings

Turn the Tasks (Scheduler) module off — every task stops firing, the tasks are kept — and on again.

**Where:** Tasks → Settings → **Disable module** · `/projects/<project>/tasks/settings`

## Before you start

* You have the `scheduler:manage` permission.
* Disabling stops **every** task of the project at once. To stop one task, [disable that task](/codemash/cloud/tasks/tasks/edit.md#change-or-remove-it-later) instead.

## Steps

1. Open **Tasks → Settings**. The page has one panel, **Disable scheduler module**, with the button **Disable module**.

Every task stops firing, but your tasks are kept: enable the module again and the enabled tasks fire again., and the red Disable module button">

Tasks → Settings.

2. Press **Disable module**. The dialog **Disable the scheduler module?** says *Every scheduled task stops firing. The tasks are kept and fire again when you enable the module.*

3. Press **Disable module** in the dialog.

## Result

The module is off at once: every task's cron is removed and nothing fires, and a run is not made up later. The Scheduler menu (**Tasks**, **Settings**) disappears.

{% hint style="info" %}
Cloud stays on the Settings page after the module is off; it does not go to the enable page by itself. Open **Tasks** in the left menu to see it. The panel also shows an old documentation address as plain text; it does not open — this page is the one it means.
{% endhint %}

## Change or remove it later

* **Enable** — press **ENABLE** on the **Norbix Tasks** page (see [Tasks](/codemash/cloud/tasks.md#enable-the-module)). Every task is still there, and the ones that were enabled run again from their next cron time; disabled tasks stay disabled.

* **Remove tasks for good** — [delete each task](/codemash/cloud/tasks/tasks/delete.md); turning the module off deletes nothing.

## Do it from code

```ts
await norbix.hub.scheduler.disableScheduler();
await norbix.hub.scheduler.enableScheduler();
```

```sh
norbix hub scheduler disable --yes
```
