# Delete a template

Delete a push template for good.

**Where:** Push → Templates → a template → **Actions** → **Delete** · `/projects/<project>/push/templates/<templateId>/edit`

## Before you start

* Make sure no campaign, scheduler task or trigger still needs the template — a deleted template cannot be restored. To only take it out of use, [archive](/codemash/cloud/push/templates/publish.md) it instead.

## Steps

1. Open the template — here a clone of `Weekend sale` — and choose **Actions → Delete**.
2. The dialog **Delete Confirmation** asks *Are you sure you want to delete?* Press **Delete** (or **Cancel**).

## Result

Cloud returns to the [templates list](/codemash/cloud/push/templates.md), and the template is gone. Campaigns that already sent it keep their record.

## Change or remove it later

* A deleted template cannot be brought back. Create it again with [Create or edit a template](/codemash/cloud/push/templates/editor.md); it gets a new id.
