# Termination

Disable a project for a while, enable it again, or delete it for good.

**Where:** Project → Settings → **Termination** · `/projects/<project>/settings?tab=Termination`

The **Termination** tab has two cards: **Project status** (disable or enable) and **Delete project**. A disabled project keeps all its data but refuses every action; a deleted project is gone.

## Before you start

* To disable or enable: an account role that may manage the project. To delete: a role that may delete it (for example **Account Administrator**).
* Before deleting, export anything you still need.

## Steps

1. Open **Settings → Termination**. **Current status** shows **Active**.

2. Press **Disable...**. The dialog **Disable Project** asks you to confirm; press **Submit**.

3. To delete a project instead, press **Delete Project...**. The dialog **Delete project** shows the project name and id; type the **Project ID** (for example `pr_3beb9HINTMoE1wZYsHthB2`) and press **Delete project**.

## Result

* **Disabled** — **Current status: Disabled**, the button changes to **Enable**, and the project card on [Projects](/codemash/cloud/projects.md) shows **DISABLED**. You can still look around the project, but nothing can be changed or sent and the API refuses calls.

* **Deleted** — all project data, modules, integrations and settings are removed and the project disappears from **Projects**.

After **Delete project** Cloud stays on the deleted project's settings page and shows *CM-ERRORS-PROJECTS-002: Project with id … not found*. The project is deleted; open **Projects** from the menu bar.

## Change or remove it later

* **Enable** — press **Enable** on a disabled project; it is **Active** again at once.
* A deleted project cannot be brought back.
