# Enable or disable a trigger

Turn a payment trigger off without deleting it, and on again.

**Where:** Payments → Triggers → click a trigger → **Actions** → **Disable** / **Enable** · `/projects/<project>/payments/triggers/<triggerId>/edit`

## Before you start

* The trigger exists — see [Create a trigger](/codemash/cloud/payments/triggers/new.md). A new trigger starts **enabled**.
* You need a project role that may change payment triggers (for example **Owner** or **Administrator**).

## Steps

1. Open the trigger, here `Tell support about refunds`, and press **Actions**. On an enabled trigger the menu has **Disable**, **Delete trigger...** and **See documentation**.

2. Press **Disable**. Cloud goes back to the list, where the trigger shows **Enabled: No**.

3. To turn it on again, open the trigger. The banner *Trigger is disabled, but you can still edit it.* is on top, and **Actions** has **Enable**. Press **Enable**.

## Result

A disabled trigger keeps all its settings but does not run: webhook calls still reach the integration and are listed under **Received webhooks**, they just pass the trigger by. You can still edit it. After **Enable** it runs again from the next call; calls that came in while it was off are not run again.

## Change or remove it later

* **Edit** — [Edit a trigger](/codemash/cloud/payments/triggers/edit.md).
* **Delete** — [Delete a trigger](/codemash/cloud/payments/triggers/delete.md).

## Do it from code

```ts
await norbix.hub.payments.disablePaymentsTrigger({ triggerId, triggerType: 'Payments' });
await norbix.hub.payments.enablePaymentsTrigger({ triggerId, triggerType: 'Payments' });
```

```sh
norbix hub payments trigger disable --triggerId trg_4bzZAXN2yMf3Ba0gTSABrW --triggerType Payments --yes
norbix hub payments trigger enable --triggerId trg_4bzZAXN2yMf3Ba0gTSABrW --triggerType Payments
```

The client setup is on the [Payments page](/codemash/cloud/payments.md#use-it-from-code). API: [Disable Payments Trigger](/codemash/api-reference/payments/triggers/disable-payments-trigger.md) · [Enable Payments Trigger](/codemash/api-reference/payments/triggers/enable-payments-trigger.md)
