# Delete a trigger

Delete a payment trigger for good.

**Where:** Payments → Triggers → click a trigger → **Actions** → **Delete trigger...** · `/projects/<project>/payments/triggers/<triggerId>/edit`

## Before you start

* The trigger exists — see [Create a trigger](/codemash/cloud/payments/triggers/new.md).
* To stop it only for a while, [disable it](/codemash/cloud/payments/triggers/enable.md) instead: a deleted trigger cannot be brought back.

## Steps

1. Open the trigger, here `Old test trigger`, press **Actions** and choose **Delete trigger...**.
2. The dialog **Delete Confirmation** asks *Are you sure you want to delete?* Press **Delete** (or **Cancel** to keep it).

## Result

The trigger is gone from **Payments Triggers** and does not run any more. Emails or webhooks it already sent stay where they are (for example in **Email → Campaigns**).

## Change or remove it later

* There is no undo. [Create the trigger](/codemash/cloud/payments/triggers/new.md) again if you need it.
