# Settings

Turn the Payments module off for the project, and on again.

**Where:** Payments → **Settings** · `/projects/<project>/payments/settings`

The Payments settings screen has one panel, **Disable payments module**. Turning the module off stops the Payments screens; your integrations and triggers are kept.

## Before you start

* You need the `payment:manage` permission on the Payments module (for example **Owner** or **Administrator**).
* While the module is off, Norbix does not run your payment triggers. Tell the people who rely on those emails or webhooks first.

## Steps

1. Open **Payments → Settings**. The panel says *You can disable payments module and all related data will be deleted.* (see the note under **Result**).

2. Press **Disable module**. The dialog **Disable this module?** says *Are you sure? The module and all the data that belongs to it will be deleted. This cannot be undone.*

3. Press **Disable module** in the dialog.

## Result

Cloud goes back to the Payments enable page (**Norbix Payments** with **ENABLE**); the Payments menu is gone until you enable the module again.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Disabling a module never deletes data — that is by design: your data is kept and comes back when you enable the module again. Data is deleted only through the **Compliance** settings (personal data of a person) or by [deleting the project](/codemash/cloud/project/settings/termination.md). The panel and the dialog still say the data *will be deleted*; that text is wrong and is being corrected. To remove single items, see [Disable or delete an integration](/codemash/cloud/payments/integrations/disable.md) and [Delete a trigger](/codemash/cloud/payments/triggers/delete.md).
{% endhint %}

## Change or remove it later

* **Enable again** — open **Payments** in the left menu and press **ENABLE** (see [the overview](/codemash/cloud/payments.md#enable-the-module)). Cloud opens the Orders screen.
* **No other settings** — this screen has only the disable panel.

## Do it from code

```ts
await norbix.hub.payments.disablePayments();
// …later
await norbix.hub.payments.enablePayments();
```

```sh
norbix hub payments disable --yes
norbix hub payments enable
```

The client setup is on the [Payments page](/codemash/cloud/payments.md#use-it-from-code). API: [Disable Payments](/codemash/api-reference/payments/module/disable-payments.md) · [Enable Payments](/codemash/api-reference/payments/module/enable-payments.md)
