Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to page URLs; this page is available as [Markdown](https://codemash.gitbook.io/codemash/cloud/membership/policies/delete.md). # Delete a policy Delete a custom policy. **Where:** Membership → Policies → click a policy → **Actions** → **Delete** · `/projects//membership/policies//edit` ## Before you start * Only custom policies can be deleted; on a system policy **Delete** is off. * Check which roles carry the policy — they lose its permissions. * You need the `membership:delete` permission on policies. ## Steps 1. Under **Custom Policies**, click the policy, for example `temp-policy`, and open **Actions**.

2. Press **Delete**. The dialog **Delete Confirmation** asks *Are you sure you want to delete?*

3. Press **Delete**. ## Result Cloud goes back to **Policies**; the policy is gone from **Custom Policies**.
