# Test an integration

Test a logging integration — Norbix writes, reads and deletes a test entry; only a tested integration receives logs.

**Where:** Logs → Integrations → an integration → **Test integration** · `/projects/<project>/logging/integrations/<integrationId>/edit`

## Before you start

* The integration is saved — see [Providers](/codemash/cloud/logs/integrations/providers.md). A new integration must be saved before it can be tested (the panel says *Run test after successful save.*).
* The test takes no input and sends nothing to your users: Norbix writes one test entry to the integration and checks it.

## Steps

1. Open **Logs → Integrations** and press the integration, here `Norbix Logging`. A new integration shows the badges **ENABLED** and **NOT TESTED**.

2. At the bottom of the form, press **Test integration**.

## Result

The panel shows **Test passed** or **Test failed**, the time of the run and one line per check. The badge becomes **TESTED** or **TEST FAILED**. For Norbix Logging there are five checks — **ResolveDatabase** (find the project's default database), **WriteLog**, **ReadAllLogs**, **ReadLog** and **DeleteLog** (the test entry is removed again).

<figure><img src="https://712692422-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FHy372bqsaex2cqS3ikhL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-eb4b10c42aa9d0e1bb384859332bd945f23dcec2%2Fintegrations-test-2.png?alt=media" alt="Test passed, Last run 10/6/2026, ResolveDatabase, WriteLog, ReadAllLogs, ReadLog, DeleteLog all Success"><figcaption><p>Norbix Logging: all five checks <strong>Success</strong>.</p></figcaption></figure>

Every other provider has one check, **WriteLog**, and it fails today, because Norbix cannot deliver to that provider yet:

<figure><img src="https://712692422-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FHy372bqsaex2cqS3ikhL%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-98a1196e1aba7b4206177fbdf8f948624df32ae7%2Fdatadog-saved-2.png?alt=media" alt="Test failed, WriteLog Failed: Log delivery for the &#x27;DataDog&#x27; provider is configured but not yet supported by this version. …"><figcaption><p>Datadog: <strong>WriteLog — Failed</strong>.</p></figcaption></figure>

The result matters: an integration receives log entries only when it is **enabled and its last test passed**. A Norbix Logging integration created by **Save logs to my default database** on the [enable page](/codemash/cloud/logs.md#enable-the-module) is tested for you; one you add on the picker is not, so test it once after **Save**. There is no "I received it" step for logging — the test checks delivery by itself.

## Change or remove it later

* Change the fields, press **Save**, and test again. Secret fields (API keys, passwords) are never shown; type them again before **Save**.
* [Disable or delete](/codemash/cloud/logs/integrations/disable.md) an integration you no longer use.

## Do it from code

```ts
const { items } = await norbix.hub.logs.testLoggingIntegration({ integrationId });
console.log(items);
// Norbix Logging: [ { operation: 'ResolveDatabase', result: 'OK' }, { operation: 'WriteLog', result: 'OK' }, … ]
```

```sh
norbix hub logs logging integration test --integrationId int_3H6kflX6PtnMT5yjqZx7SK
```

`integrationId` is the `int_…` id from the integration page or from [Get Logging Integrations](/codemash/api-reference/logs/integrations/get-logging-integrations.md). The client setup is on the [Logs page](/codemash/cloud/logs.md#use-it-from-code). API: [Test Logging Integration](/codemash/api-reference/logs/integrations/test-logging-integration.md)
