# Start from an example

Start an email template from a ready-made example in the Templates Library.

**Where:** Email → Templates → **Create Template → Pick from examples** · `/projects/<project>/emails/templates/marketplace`

The **Templates Library** holds ready-made email templates for common messages — support cases, invitations, password reset, onboarding, sign-in alerts, promotions. You pick one and get your own copy to change.

## Before you start

* Permission `email:read` to browse and `email:create` to save the copy.

## Steps

1. Open **Create Template** and choose **Pick from examples**. The **Templates Library** opens with filters on top: **Tags**, **For Triggers** (Not Set, Membership, Database, Files, Payments), **Theme** (Branded, Creative, Text) and **Channel** (Not Set, Marketing, Transactional), plus a sort menu.

   Below the filters each card shows the template name (for example `Support case closed`, `Password reset`, `Black Friday`), a short description, its tags and theme.
2. Press a card. **Add New Email Template** opens with the example copied in: name, description, subject and body.

3. Change the name (for example `Support case closed — Acme`), the text, and add the missing project languages, then press **Create**. The fields are the same as in [Create or edit a template](/codemash/cloud/emails/templates/editor.md).

## Result

Your copy appears in **Email → Templates** with its own id (`tmpl_…`). The example itself does not change, and later changes to the example do not reach your copy.

{% hint style="info" %}
The card preview pictures do not load on every install yet; the cards still open the example.
{% endhint %}

* Many examples come in one language only (`en`). Add a translation for every project language before a campaign or trigger can use your copy — see [Translate a template](/codemash/cloud/emails/templates/translate.md).
* An example (a system template) cannot be picked directly on the campaign form; save a copy first.

## Change or remove it later

Your copy is a normal template: [edit](/codemash/cloud/emails/templates/editor.md), [translate](/codemash/cloud/emails/templates/translate.md), [archive](/codemash/cloud/emails/templates/publish.md) or [delete](/codemash/cloud/emails/templates/delete.md) it.

## Do it from code

```ts
const { list } = await norbix.hub.notifications.getSystemEmailTemplates();
const { item } = await norbix.hub.notifications.getSystemEmailTemplate({ id: list.items[0].viewId });
console.log(item.templateName, item.translations.map((t) => t.language)); // Support case closed [ 'en' ]
```

Then save your copy with `createEmailTemplate` ([Create or edit a template](/codemash/cloud/emails/templates/editor.md#do-it-from-code)).

```sh
norbix hub notifications system email templates get
```
