# Settings

Email settings — turn the Email module off, and see what stops when you do.

**Where:** Email → Settings · `/projects/<project>/emails/settings`

The only setting is **Disable emails module**. Turning email off is not a small switch — triggers send emails, campaigns may be scheduled, Membership may send verification emails — so the panel lists what depends on Email before you disable it, and stops it cleanly.

## Before you start

* Permission `email:manage` (built-in **Administrator**). **Developer** and **Viewer** can open the screen, but the dependency list and the disable call are refused.
* Read the list on the panel: everything there stops working while Email is off.

## Steps

1. Open **Email → Settings**. The panel **Disable emails module** says what disabling does:

   * enabled triggers that send via Email are turned off;
   * scheduled Email campaign tasks are disabled;
   * in-flight Email campaigns are stopped (batches already sending finish; no new batches start);
   * Membership email settings stay saved but cannot be used until Email is on again.

   Below it, the dependencies of this project, in groups: **Triggers**, **Scheduler tasks**, **In-flight campaigns** and **Membership settings via Email** (only the groups that have items). Example: **Passkey email verification** (Membership setting).

2. When the panel lists dependencies, tick **I understand that disabling Email will affect the items listed above.** — **Disable module** stays off until you do. If the list cannot load, the panel says **Could not load dependencies**; you can still disable.

3. Press **Disable module**. There is no extra dialog.

## Result

When Norbix has stopped the dependent work, Cloud opens **Email** again — now the enable page. Every campaign that was running or scheduled has the status **Stopped**; triggers that send email are turned off (not deleted).

* **Stopped is final.** Campaigns stopped by disabling do not resume when you enable Email again; create them again (**Create new from this**).
* **Membership needs Email** for invitations and verification emails; those flows fail while Email is off.

## Change or remove it later

Turn Email on again: open **Email** in the project menu and press **ENABLE** on the enable page — see [Email](/codemash/cloud/emails.md#enable-the-module). Templates, signatures, footers and integrations are still there. Turn your triggers on again yourself.

## Do it from code

```ts
const deps = await norbix.hub.notifications.getEmailDisableDependencies();
console.log(deps); // triggers, scheduler tasks, in-flight campaigns, Membership settings
await norbix.hub.notifications.disableEmail();
await norbix.hub.notifications.enableEmail();
```

```sh
norbix hub notifications email disable dependencies get
```

The answer on the test project: `membershipSettings: [ { name: 'Passkey email verification', category: 'Membership setting' } ]`, the other groups empty.
