# Edit a function

Editing your own function — Cloud has no screen for it.

**Where:** Code → Functions → a function · `/projects/<project>/code/functions/custom/<functionId>/edit` (route kept, no screen)

Cloud has no screen for this yet. The routes `…/functions/custom/<functionId>/edit`, `…/functions/<functionId>`, `…/functions/system/list` and `…/functions/system/<functionId>/edit` are in Cloud's route table, but nothing is drawn there — the page stays blank. The server no longer has standalone functions (ids `cf_…`) or the old built-in system functions, so no API, SDK or CLI call edits one either. Edit a [marketplace function](/codemash/cloud/code/marketplace/function.md) instead.

## Before you start

* There is nothing to edit: the [Functions list](/codemash/cloud/code/functions.md) is always empty, because [creating a function](/codemash/cloud/code/functions/new.md) does not save one.

## Steps

1. Open **Code → Functions**. The table has no rows, so there is no function to open.
2. Opening an edit address by hand, for example `/projects/<project>/code/functions/custom/cf_7pW2sKvB9qLm3XcT1yRfGh/edit`, shows an empty page.

## Result

Nothing changes.

## Change or remove it later

* To change a marketplace function, open it with **Edit …** on its connection — see [Add and call a marketplace function](/codemash/cloud/code/marketplace/function.md).

## Do it from code

There is no endpoint for standalone functions. A marketplace function is read and changed by its `func_…` id:
