# Test Sms Integration

Send a test SMS through an integration.

The **SMS** channel delivers text messages — templates, campaigns, and provider integrations — for OTPs, alerts, and bulk sends.

This endpoint sends one test SMS through an integration to the E.164 number in `to` (for example `+37060000000`); a number in another format is refused. After a test the integration asks for a new confirmation — call [Confirm Sms Integration Human Delivery](/codemash/api-reference/notifications/sms/confirm-sms-integration-human-delivery.md) once the SMS has arrived.

**Good to know.** For **Twilio** the test first checks the account (no SMS, no cost — a wrong Auth Token fails here) and then sends a real SMS to `to`; without `to` it only checks the account. **Vonage, Plivo, Telnyx, Bird, Telesign and Sinch** refuse every test with `CM-ERRORS-SMS-005` (not supported yet). A test on the **Fake** keeps it confirmed. The test reads the production record only, so an integration of another environment answers "not found" (testing-plan area **14-sms**, S97).
