# Disable Sms

Turn the SMS module off.

The **SMS** channel delivers text messages — templates, campaigns, and provider integrations — for OTPs, alerts, and bulk sends.

This endpoint turns the SMS module off for the project and stops every scheduled or running SMS campaign, on every page of the list. Templates and integrations stay saved. Call [Get Sms Disable Dependencies](/codemash/api-reference/notifications/sms/get-sms-disable-dependencies.md) first to see what stops.

This action is destructive or irreversible. Make sure you target the right item and confirm before running it.

**PUT since 2026-10-05 (was GET).** Turning a module on or off changes state, so it is a `PUT`. A `GET` on this path answers **405 Method Not Allowed** — there is no GET alias. Every Norbix SDK (and the CLI from 1.14.0) already sends `PUT`.
