# Frameworks

Use Norbix as the tool box of the agents you ship — LangChain and LangGraph, through the Norbix MCP server.

You build your own agent with a framework — it plans, calls tools, keeps state — and it needs a backend to read and write: users, records, files, messages. Writing one tool per endpoint by hand is slow and goes stale.

## How Norbix models it

Most agent frameworks load tools from an **MCP server** (MCP = Model Context Protocol, the standard way AI tools call outside services). The Norbix [MCP server](/codemash/ai/developers/mcp-server.md) is one address, `https://hub.norbix.ai/v3/account/mcp`, so one client config gives your agent the Norbix tools — limited by the roles of the key you give it.

| Framework | How it loads Norbix | Page |
| --------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------- |
| LangChain | `langchain-mcp-adapters`, `streamable_http` transport, key in a header | [LangChain](/codemash/ai/products/frameworks/langchain.md) |
| LangGraph | the same adapter, tools handed to a ReAct agent graph | [LangGraph](/codemash/ai/products/frameworks/langgraph.md) |

Both examples were run against a test installation with `langchain-mcp-adapters` 0.3.2, `langgraph` 1.2.14 and `langchain-openai` 1.6.7. Other frameworks get a page here once an example has been run.

Tips for every framework:

* Give the agent an `nbsu_` key with the smallest role that works — a **Viewer** key for an agent that only reports. See [Read-only keys](/codemash/ai/developers/read-only-keys.md).
* Load only the toolsets you need: `…/v3/account/mcp?toolsets=ai:database`. Many models accept at most 128 tools in one request, and the full list has 418. The groups are on [What agents can do](/codemash/ai/developers/what-agents-can-do.md).
* Without an MCP client, the [REST API](/codemash/api-reference/guides.md) and the [TypeScript SDK](/codemash/sdks/javascript-typescript.md) work from any code.
